How to pitch a panel for SCMS – Tools you can use

Hi, all. Hope your summers are off to a rousing start. This is just a friendly reminder that SCMS hosts a Bulletin Board where CFPs for conference panels can be shared and networked. Please note that Seminar topics are due Monday, July 22, 2019, 5:00PM CT.
Feel free to use the War and Media Studies Facebook Group page to coordinate panels, as well.

2020 CALL FOR PROPOSALS

The Society for Cinema and Media Studies announces its call for proposals for the 2020 conference. Please join us April 1-5, 2020 at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel. The 2020 SCMS Conference Program Committee welcomes quality proposals on any topic related to cinema and media studies.

See Submitting a Proposal to SCMS: Guide for Success for helpful information on submitting a proposal.

In addition, On July 19, 2018, Pamela Wojcik, Miriam Petty, and Nick Davis held a Facebook Live discussion on what makes a successful SCMS conference proposal and answered members’ questions. The archived event video can be found here.
