Teaching Assistant Professor

Interdisciplinary Diversity Programs (Africana Studies, American Indian Studies, American Studies, and Gender and Women’s Studies)

The College of Arts & Sciences at Oklahoma State University is seeking to hire a Teaching Assistant Professor for joint duties in support of the growing interdisciplinary programs in American Studies, Gender & Women’s Studies, Africana Studies, and/or American Indian Studies at OSU. Candidates should possess a PhD in Africana Studies, American Indian Studies, American Studies, Gender & Women’s Studies, or cognate fields. This non tenure-track position has an initial appointment of 3 years. Candidates must have strong interdisciplinary training and a specialization in a subject that reflects the intersection of two or more of the interdisciplinary programs listed above. Candidates with significant teaching experience preferred.
The successful hire will hold a 3-3 teaching load and assist with advising, programming, community engagement, and other service duties for their assigned programs, including building the profile and visibility of our programs among the student body of OSU. They  will teach a variety of general education, upper-division, hybrid, and online classes, including independent studies and Honors contracts as needed. Candidates will be expected to support the learning needs of students from diverse backgrounds, ages and skill ranges, and to integrate multicultural experiences into instructional methods.
